![]() However, it's most likely due to the increased stress on our servers due to the Summer Sale madness where everyone is attempting to download their new games all at once. It could also be the result of issues affecting a Steam content server in your region. This issue could be caused by a local network, software or hardware conflict on your end. ![]() This error indicates that Steam is not able to find or communicate with the content servers in your selected download region. Thanks for reaching out, I see that you are experiencing a content server error while trying to install Fallout: New Vegas. I put in a support ticket about it, because I wanted at least something official, and got this: When I was downloading PoE I tried switching servers on the fly, but I noticed the rate always seemed to be the same, maybe it's not actually switiching locations? ![]() The other weird thing is the Ohio error, if I can change my location shouldn't it be trying to download stuff from someplace else? I've tried Russia, China, Vietnam, same deal. Purged DNS, changed to Google's public DNS, flushed Steam's dns. If it's something else on my end I have no idea what anymore, I've messed with my router, the connection, etc etc. But I've tried Path of Exile, XCOM2, Dead State, Kingdom Come, those all work. ARK, Prey, Darkest Dungeon, Breath of Death, none of those will download. I've tried all the stuff, including removing Steam and deleting registry keys. I even tried logging into my account from his computer and it worked there. Nope, contacted Steam support and they don't have any clue either other than to say it's probably due to the Steam sale and server loads, but I think that's bogus because my brother is on the exact same network and he can download stuff I can't.
